Istanpitta is a United States based ensemble performing music of the 10th to 14th century Middle Ages including many traditional Middle Eastern dances. The ensemble consists of 3-5 musicians playing a variety of period instruments including Oud, Lute, Saz, Early Percussion, Shawms, Renaissance Recorders, Transverse Flutes, Krummhorns, Vielles, Medieval Harp and Bagpipes.

Sahira will perform for 25-30
minutes
in a classical Egyptian
belly dance show.
The performance
includes choreographed dances
with finger cymbals and veil,
as well as an exciting drum
solo. If appropriate, the show
will end with audience participation,
and the guest of honor may be
asked to belly dance! |

HOURLY FEE - $300 and up
In one hour, Sahira can perform
two 15-minute shows with a costume

a short performance by Sahira
plus a belly dance lesson for

provide a belly dance music

How
far in advance do I need to book
a dancer?
Sooner is always better than later
- two weeks in advance will increase
your chances of getting the performace
you want at the time you request.
|

What
about out-of-state and international
bookings?
Sahira has performed across the
US as well as in Canada, Mexico,
Germany, Taiwan, Australia, Indonesia,
and Egypt. She is available for national and international bookings, though these will need to be arranged at least three months in advance. |
|
Is a deposit required?
50% of the total fee is due
upon receipt of the contract to secure
the performace. The remainder of the
performance fee is due before the
performace either by mail on upon
arrival at the event. |
|
How is the music handled?
The belly dancer provides a music CD tailored to your event and the venue should provide the sound system (louder is better). |
|
Is it appropriate for children?
Yes, the belly dance show is family friendly. |
|
Is tipping appropriate?
Yes. Unless the host has requested
otherwise, the dancer will gladly
accept tips. Tips may be given to
the dancer after the show, or thrown
above her head while she dances. |
